Welcome to Selah Jiu-Jitsu

Thank you for your interest in Selah Jiu Jitsu, the new program at Goju-Ryu Karate of Selah. Selah Jiu Jitsu offers training in mixed martial arts self-defense, mainly based on Jiu Jitsu.

Selah Jiu Jitsu was formed with the collaboration of three martial artists who are are ranked Goju-Ryu Karate, Isshin-Ryu Karate, and Jiu Jitsu. Additionally, all three of our instructors are Correctional Officers and are trained in the defensive tactics used in their profession. Selah Jiu Jitsu incorporates the martial arts backgrounds of our instructors with other techniques learned from Krav Maga, Akido, Jin Jitsu, and stand-up fighting styles. Most people involved in Martial Arts would agree that we can all learn from other styles and continue to evolve into more effective fighters.

You may be wondering if Selah Jiu Jitsu is right for you. Anyone over age 18 who wants to learn self-defense techniques and improve their conditioning may benefit from our program. Selah Jiu Jitsu is open to beginners, intermediate, and advanced students regardless of previous training. We would like to make it clear that we are not a "cage fighting" school. If that is what you are looking for, then Selah Jiu Jitsu is not for you. Selah Jiu Jitsu teaches practical self-defense in a safe and friendly training environment.
